I also want to add something else, before I close this entire essay I'm writing. So the in-game time doesn't start before the player touches the watch, right? That would mean that the player can go ahead and do a bit of set-up before they actually start the run. To make it more fun to play, I would split the category even further into another two parts. A normal run where you're allowed to do some set-up and a 'no set-up' one where the player isn't allowed to get any points and collectibles before touching the timer. For 100% with set-up, players can kill enemies, collect throwables and maybe even open a chest with said throwables before touching the timer, however you can't collect any gems, statues, cards or peppers obviously. That would mean that the player can do four seperate runs per regular IL, those being: "Any% - No Set-up", "Any% - With Set-Up", "100% - No Set-Up" and "100% - With Set-Up". Boss levels don't have any collectibles, so that would still mean runners can only run any% for these ones.

I didn't even know this at the time, but the moderators wouldn't even have to retime shit. There's literraly an IN-GAME TIMER for these kinds of things. Althought you could make an argument that there are already IL leaderboards in-game, they don't even include the bosses, neither do you know what console people are playing on. For IL's, people don't have to use the autosplitter, since there's an in-game timer anyways, which would make it more accesible for runners. That would mean that not every player would have to get the PC version of the game to save more time. The in-game boards are also hacked A TON so they aren't even that reliable to begin with. You could also make 2 seperate categories (except for the bosses), those being Any% and 100%. Since 100% leaderboards in-game don't exist, it would still be a great addition to speedrunners. The boss levels sadly don't have an in-game timer, which would mean timer starts upon first movement and ends upon collecting the gem.

How has it been a year and this post still doesn't have any replies by the mods? I just bought the game to relive some nostalgia on PC and I see a lot of speedrunning potential here. Adding a level leaderboard would make this game way more speedran. IL's are very open to beginners and it's not like there aren't enough mods to verify these runs. Hell, we have 3 mods and we've only had 55 players.

Now that the third patch just came out, I think it's the perfect time to add Level runs. They have added a literal menu for you to choose which part of the game to continue from. Each one of these could be turned into an Individual Level leaderboard.

I know this is kind of late to say now that this game exists for almost 2 years, but why is there not an All Tapes category? We have 100% already, but you can easily make 'All Tapes', 'All Trophies' or maybe even 'All Documents' That'll maybe even make a couple of people run this game again.
